Emergency First Aid & CPR (Basic)
Duration:
This course runs for 7.5 hours. It includes classroom teaching and hands-on skills practice.
Description:
Emergency First Aid and CPR provides basic first aid and resuscitation skills. It is designed for workplaces with low risk. It is also helpful for individuals who want confidence when responding to emergencies at home.
The course meets provincial and territorial safety requirements. It follows current first aid and CPR guidelines. However, it does not include splinting or patient transport. If more advanced training is needed, Standard First Aid and CPR is recommended.
Instructor:
A Mud Creek Medics Instructor teaches this course in a single full-day session. It includes both theory and practical skill practice.
Completion Criteria:
Participants must demonstrate all required skills. They must attend the full course and take part in all activities. A minimum score of 75 percent is required on the written exam. Learners must also follow the Fundamental Principles throughout the class.
Certification:
Certification is valid for three years. It includes Emergency First Aid, CPR Level A or C, and AED use.
