Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR C AED (Intermediate) Blended Class
Duration:
This blended class includes 8 hours of online learning, followed by 7 to 7.5 hours of in-class instruction. The online portion is completed first, and the in-class session focuses on hands-on skills and practical application.

Completion Criteria:
To receive certification, participants must:
- Attend all parts of the course with full participation
- Successfully demonstrate all required first aid and CPR skills
- Achieve a minimum score of 75% on the written knowledge evaluation
- Follow the Red Cross Fundamental Principles throughout the training
Certification Validity:
Upon successful completion, certification is valid for three years and includes Standard First Aid, CPR Level A or C, and AED use.

Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR C AED (Intermediate) Recertification Class
Duration:
Recertification requires 6.5 to 7.5 hours of instruction. It includes CPR Level A or C and AED use.
Pre-Requisite:
- Participants must present a valid, non-expired permanent Standard First Aid and CPR certificate issued in Alberta.
- Expired or temporary certificates are not accepted.
- If the original certificate is lost, the issuing training provider must be contacted for replacement.

- Preparing to respond to an emergency
- Understanding the EMS system
- Check, Call, Care steps
- Airway emergencies
- Breathing and circulation emergencies
- First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Wound care and bleeding control
- Head and spine injuries
- Bone, muscle, and joint injuries
- Sudden medical emergencies
- Environmental emergencies
- Poisoning, including opioid poisoning
- Additional course elements required by local legislation
