Description:
The Fire and Explosion Hazard Management class provides workers with the knowledge needed to recognize and control fire risks in the workplace. It also explains how fires start and spread, helping participants understand the conditions that increase fire danger. Furthermore, the course focuses on prevention strategies and safe work practices that reduce the likelihood of fire or explosion events. Learners practice hands-on skills to build confidence in real workplace settings.
Course Outline Includes:
- Overview of IRP 18 and its role in fire and explosion hazard management
- Classifications of fire types and their characteristics
- Common causes of workplace fires and contributing factors
- Prevention methods to reduce fire and explosion risks
- Inspection, care, and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers
- Proper selection and use of portable extinguishers in different scenarios
- Practical outdoor extinguisher usage under instructor guidance

- Participants must be prepared for outdoor practical activity.
- Full PPE is required to participate safely.
- This course is suitable for industrial, oilfield, construction, and general workplace environments.
